Logging Into Your TurboTax Account From The Login Screen

To login to your TurboTax account for existing customers you need your user name and password. You can also Contact TurboTax by Phone, Live Chat, or by e-Mail depending on your preference.

If you already created an account, the TurboTax login Procedure has been known to have issues during the peak parts of tax season are concentrated from January 15th to February 15th though this year will most likely change those dates to February 1st through the end of the month due to the late IRS starting date for accepting returns being delayed by our inept government shutdown.

Clicking this button will take you directly to the login screen that asks for your User ID and your Password. Once those have been entered you just simply click the Sign In button to access you account.

Should you have problems here, i.e. forgot your password, there is some text below the Sign In button that states "Need help accessing your account?". You can click this text. So here is what to do if you don't remember your account login credentials that were registered when you created your account.

Retrieving Your TurboTax Account Login User Name Or Password

So if you forgot your TurboTax Login username, or password, there is a "Need help accessing your account?" text link at the bottom of the login screen that you can click to be taken to the "Find your account?" screen. Here you can enter your email address or user ID to retrieve your account password.

So What If You Forgot What Email Address You Used And Your TurboTax User ID

There is a text link that says "I don't know my email address or user ID" above the continue button that allows you to a screen where TurboTax asks for other information to determine who you are, and what login credentials were applied to your account when you created it.

Here you will be asked for your name, social security number, zip code and date of birth. You can then click continue and TurboTax will help you solve your Login issues.

Creating A New TurboTax User Account

Follow the steps below to create a new TurboTax User Account.

  1. Begin by entering the email address you want to use.
  2. Next choose a user ID for your account access.
  3. Now you will choose a password for account access.
  4. Then you are required to select a security question and answer for providing additional credentials to TurboTax when they feel your login may be questionable, or account may have been breached
  5. Last "optional" information to be entered is your mobile phone number.
  6. Click the Create Account button and you can Login to your new TurboTax Account.

You can then access the TurboTax Tax Software to choose the program you want to use to prepare and file your tax return online.
